Congressman Dan Crenshaw Named to Budget and Homeland Security Committees
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Dan Crenshaw released the following statement after he was appointed to the House Budget and Homeland Security Committees.
“These committee assignments will be a great asset in serving Texas’s Second Congressional District. As a member of the Budget Committee, I will tirelessly make the case that we must address our spending problem. Programs like single-payer healthcare, which would raise taxes to the tune of $32 trillion, will wreak havoc on our economy. Our current spending is out of control and Democrats’ policies will only make it worse. I’m excited to advocate for fiscal responsibility at every turn.
“Texas are always concerned about the effectiveness of our border security. This will be a top priority for me on the Homeland Security Committee. Also among my top priorities is ensuring Houstonians get the necessary relief funding to allow us to fully recover from Hurricane Harvey. Additionally, this Committee plays a vital role in important issues impacting the greater Houston area including port security, aviation safety, and counter-terrorism.
“I look forward to working to improve America’s national security, deliver much needed relief funding and defend our budget from crippling tax and spend policies.”
