WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Crenshaw sent a letter to the President, signed by the bipartisan Houston-area delegation, requesting his quick consideration and approval of Governor Abbott’s major disaster declaration request in the wake of Tropical Storm Imelda.

“Tropical Storm Imelda brought levels of rain, flooding and destruction to Houston that we have not seen since Hurricane Harvey,” said Crenshaw. “It’s clear, as it was two years ago, that recovery requires federal assistance. That is why our Houston delegation has come together to get this done. For a community still struggling to recover from a storm that swept through Houston two years ago, we know how crucial and necessary a federal disaster declaration is.”

Crenshaw’s letter is signed by Representatives Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07), Pete Olson (TX-22), Al Green (TX-09), Michael McCaul (TX-10), Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18), Brian Babin (TX-36), Sylvia Garcia (TX-29), Kevin Brady (TX-08), and Randy Weber (TX-14).
