Congressman Crenshaw here, checking in after a chaotic week in our nation’s capital. If you’ve seen the news, you know about the impeachment inquiry made by House Speaker Pelosi this week. Below, I’ve highlighted my thoughts on that as well as a recap of my tour of the district following last week’s flooding.

TX-02 residents: need help with a district-related issue? Don’t hesitate to reach out to my offices if you have a concern, want to hear what we’re working on in Congress, or are having trouble with a federal agency.

Touring tx-02 in the wake of imelda

Last week, TX-02 was hit with torrential rain and historic flooding as a result of tropical depression Imelda. Residents saw unprecedented water levels flood their homes and businesses, even in places that did not flood during Hurricane Harvey.

On Monday, I surveyed Huffman, Humble and Kingwood to see the damage for myself. During the tour, I met with local officials as well as business and homeowners who were affected. We discussed the inherent need for more effective drainage systems and better inter-county communication. I was grateful to hear the personal experiences of the TX-02 residents I met with. Some of their homes have flooded twice in four months, in May as well as last week.

House flooded and not sure where to go? Know someone in need after Imelda? ReadyHarris.org has you covered. It's a great source for all your flood-related needs.

Thank you to all the Humble, Huffman and Kingwood residents for staying strong as we get through yet another flood. I remain laser-focused on improving infrastructure to better mitigate flooding in our community.

this week's here's the truth

It was a chaotic week in Washington between the whistleblower complaint and Speaker Pelosi announcing an impeachment inquiry into the President. While you were trying to keep up with the Ukraine, impeachment media frenzy, the House still voted on legislation. The focus? Immigration and the border.

Here's the truth about Democrats’ “solutions”:

mark your calendars

I’m hosting a Human Trafficking Symposium on October 8 in Houston, where attendees will hear from human trafficking experts and law enforcement officials on how to identify and prevent human trafficking as well as how they can help victims of human trafficking.

Human trafficking is an atrocious crime that plagues Houston far more than people know. It’s a manipulative, disgusting and deceitful act but, most importantly, it can be stopped. By educating Houstonians about the signs of human trafficking and how to address them, we can make our community a safer place.

All those interested in attending must RSVP.

As a reminder: if you know a middle or high school student in TX-02 interested in STEM, invite them to join our Congressional App Challenge. The winning app could be featured in our nation's capital. The registration deadline in November 1!
